Talk #15 - Jean A. Stevens, 1st Counselor in the Primary Presidency, Saturday Morning Session
Become as a Little Child
This talk suggestion is from Tammy! May we all take a moment these next couple of days and watch/listen to these wonderful words. Then please share any thoughts - small or lengthy about what impressed you as you heard this invitation to 'Become as a Little Child'.
Love you ladies!
I have been reading the New Testament lately - in fact I just finished John today and I really loved reading the different accounts of the Saviors life through the eyes and records of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John ... what has stood out to me during this reading is truly the humility of our Savior! There were many times that is so apparent that he didn't choose the path of least resistance, the easy way, or the way that would have been comfortable for him. Rather He chose to always follow His Father and do everything for Him! He was a true example - the truest - of a follower of his Father! He asks us to be perfect - and truly he was perfect. He asks us to love - and truly he did love. He asks us to serve - and truly he did serve. He asks us to be like little children - and he was a child - a child to our Heavenly Father. Loving his Father more than the praise and acceptance of man or even of his own comfort and life.
ReplyDeleteI love my Savior Jesus Christ - I love the end of her talk when she says ... "Jesus is the Christ. He is the one perfect Son—submissive, meek, humble, patient, and so full of love. May each of us have a heart to follow His example, to become as a little child..."
I have a long way to go - but every reminder I get to be as a child and as our Savior ... submissive to keeping the commandments, meek to follow the direction of the Prophet and the Gospel teachings, humble to be willing to pray and ask for help, patient ... ah patient to be patient even when it is hard, and so full of love. Sometimes it is harder to love and that is when it is most important to lose myself and love - love like a child - without keeping score, but unconditional!
Thank you for this talk - thank you for the reminders - and thank you for the opportunity to learn from our perfect Lord who lived life and lived it soooo well!
Goodnight friends!
With love!
